Debunking the tree octopus

I think our situation at Hughes sheds light on something very interesting, particularly from the perspective of a parent of two children here in the upstate of SC. It's amazing how many of our Top 50 from SC come from Hughes. Granted, it's a technology academy. But it's still a little disturbing to me that we only had one student who made the top 50 from the much more rural school district where my own children go to school.

I am dying to hear more about what Laurie uncovers in her investigation about the variations in skill levels between the two states. If there is some variation, then why are the most rural students in SC not getting the same skill sets? We may have discovered something pretty important for this state...

I'm looking forward to hearing everyone else's thoughts.
